In this year, big business is being urged to come together in a bid to make Lancashire a driving force in the region’s economy. Preston is city in Lancashire, some local company are being urged to work together and behind proposals for a business improvement district (BID) in city centre. They want improve old shopping centre or building the new shopping centre.
Article one: I have decided to write an idea about this business plan. I will choose new shopping centre in other city. I want find some different about between Preston old shopping centre and Liverpool one.
Liverpool one is a new shopping centre. Liverpool ONE on 1st November 2005 as the new brand for its £900million retail-led regeneration of Liverpool city centre. The £900 million project will provide six districts, each with its own distinctive character offering a blend of new shops, homes, offices, hotels, transport links, parking and open space. Visitors will be able to enjoy Liverpool One.
Preston, this city has two shopping centres; one is St George’s shopping centre, and Fisher gate shopping centre. Two shopping centers have same problem. They are smaller than the Liverpool one. Not more space gives to shops, car pack, and food space. The local companies want to use this business plan to improve Preston’s shopping centre. It is improve the shopping centre as a vibrant place where to shop, to live work, and visit. I think this business plan can help Preston city level.
Article two: in the article, I make inquiries about this improve business plan. This business plan want improve the old shopping centre, or building new shopping centre. I want to know what is people like stylistic in new shopping centre, which service, how long is working time. In this inquiry, I ask three people there three questions.
I find three people from university of centre Lancashire; they are Diane Leung, Jason Chan and Mirra. Two people are British born Chinese (BBC), another is British people. We make one video and a recording. They are talking about some informant about new shopping centre, such as, working time, service, and visitor space.
Firstly, we are talking about working time. In Preston, shopping centre working time is very short. It is from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. some people think it is very short. As we all know every company working time is from 9am to 5pm. Their working time is same as shopping centre. They did not find shopping after 5pm. They chose the supermarket to shopping. Because they have long working time, they have more free time to customer. Secondly, which service in new shopping centre? Students want more and more student service, such as, free deliver, and some student discount. Finally, what is people likes stylistic in new shopping centre. People want more than car park. From Monday to Friday, shopping centre car park maybe is empty, but some people did not find car park weekend. Customers want more free space, such as coffer bar, eating space, and more shopping centre maps. This inquiry help me to understand what is people likes shopping centre.
